Cub Scout Uniform and Insignia

 

  • Shirt—The official uniform shirt is available with long or short sleeves and has button-flap pockets and "Boy Scouts of America" lettered in gold above the right pocket.

  • Belt—Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle and Tiger Cub, Cub Scout, or Webelos Scout emblem.

  • Cap—Official navy-blue cap with orange front panel and tiger cub emblem for Tiger Cubs; yellow panel and wolf emblem for Wolf Cub Scouts; blue panel and bear emblem for Bear Cub Scouts. Webelos Scouts wear an olive cap with a plain panel bearing the Webelos logo.

  • Neckerchief—Triangular neckerchief is orange with navy-blue trim for Tiger Cubs, gold with navy-blue trim for Wolf Cub Scouts, light blue with navy-blue trim for Bear Cub Scouts, and plaid for Webelos Scouts. Official BSA neckerchiefs are the only neckerchiefs that boys should wear. Packs should not make their own pack neckerchiefs.

  • Neckerchief slide—Official gold-tone metal slide with the Tiger Cub, Cub Scout, or Webelos Scout logo. Boys may wear handmade neckerchief slides.

Uniforms

Section 1

Upon joining the Pack and being accepted as a Bobcat a boy will be required to have his uniform by the Blue and Gold Banquet  unless other arrangements have been discussed with the Cubmaster. It is the responsibility of the Scout to obtain the full uniform and required insignia.

 

Section 2

Cub Scout uniforms for the Pack will consist of a Blue Cub Scout shirt, neckerchief, slide. The Tiger Cubs shall wear the Orange and Blue neckerchief and the Tiger Cub Slide. The Wolf Cubs shall wear the Gold and Blue Wolf Cub neckerchief and Wolf Slide. The Bear Cubs shall wear the Blue and Navy Bear neckerchief and Bear slide. The Webelos Scout had the option of wearing a Blue Shirt or he may wear the khaki/olive uniform similar to the one worn by Boy Scouts and Adult leaders. A cap, belt, and trousers are all optional to add to the uniform. Due to the cost a pack shirt may be purchased and worn until a complete uniform is purchased. All Cub Scouts are required to have full uniform no later than the Blue and Gold Banquet.

Section 3

All insignia will be worn on the uniform shirt in the position(s) described by the BSA insignia guide by both youth and registered adult members.

Section 4

The uniform will be worn to all Cub Scout functions or during District or Council sponsored fund raising activities, unless otherwise instructed by the Cubmaster or Den Leader. Each Scout will carry a membership card.

Section 5

Grooming and Accessories:

  • Neckerchiefs shall be worn under the collar.

  • No ornamental jewelry shall be worn while in uniform or while participating in Cub Scout activities. Ornamental jewelry is defined as any jewelry type that does not serve a practical purpose (an example which serve a practical purpose would be a watch).

  • Temporary patches may be worn (i.e. campout patches, Pow Wow patches, etc.) on a Red Brag vest.

Section 6

All Scouts, Leaders, and Parents are highly encouraged to purchase a Pack T-shirt, which may be worn in lieu of the uniform at certain announced Pack and Den functions.
